Spectrums

Gouache on paper, 2022
for MOE Social Studies Symposium 2022

In this artwork, I try to capture my belief on an element of the construct of peace. Logically, we may be the same yet act different, but I reflect on the merits of the diversities of our society, regardless of artificiality; how when we are open to each other unconditionally, we can forge understanding and respect each other. “Why do we need to be one and the same?” is the question I would like to invite the viewer to debate and question as they view my work.

Fall From Grace

Digital illustration, 2022
for Live On Festival 2022

How would an organ feel if it failed its owner and as a result condemned them to death unwillingly?

In this artwork, I seek to capture the unwillingness for an organ to fail its human abode and a fight in vain to preserve the fundamental systems that are integral to a life. Using simple colours, which also are the ones seen in the human heart, the organ predicted as I believe it is the most vital and outstanding, I attempt to detail a transition from a warm life to a cold death in an emotional muddling against an organ's will in a sharp and eye-catching fashion. My goal for this artwork is to, most paramount, highlight the shared struggles between the patient and organ and the devastation caused on both and its close relatives to raise awareness on the cause of organ failure and to encourage the public to consider dedicating any possible support towards and acknowledging the struggles and experiences of those victim to organ failure and the families impacted by their condition.

Alternating Reality

Mixed media on paper, 2022
for Tips and Tones exhibition, Kamal Art Gallery, 2022

My artwork is based upon the reflection and the questioning of my understanding of myself and what I do to live life. It is an adaptation of the separate viewpoints found in perception of even arbitrary and minor circumstances that we live throughout our lives. The abstract fight escaping reality poses a question of “am I the monster or just misunderstood?”, a question that I constantly ask myself every single day I live in this world, one that I would like to invite the viewer to debate and question as they view my artwork.

As a Species

Oil pastel on paper, 2022

In this artwork, I attempt to capture the spirits of our modern lives to tell a story of the human condition and our society trying to understand it. Using contrasting colours and textures, I try to replicate the sense of human feel and sense in relation to our emotions and memories, unique and present in every human, and that how it is better seen in another point of view; up close. The deconstructed human face poses a question of “What does it mean to be human?”, a question I would like to invite the viewer to debate as they view my work.
