hi! how's your day?

I am zycone. I am an aspiring arts student wishing to enter the arts and media scene. I'm an alumni (since January 2024), and part of the Alumni Club of a secondary school in Singapore that offers the Enhanced Art Programme (EAP), where I was also in, and currently enrolled in the Polytechnic Foundation Programme to an animation and storytelling course.
This website is to provide at least easy discovery for others trying to find out more about me and my portfolio, among other things maybe, the creation of which was suggested by someone I met. Think about this place as my playground on the internet, a sandbox of things I want to construct and the like, and also another stretch of my archives.
I have been on the internet since around 2010 in some knowledgable capacity and have attempted to evolve slowly since then, although I did not have a major public presence on the internet until 2014 with the creation of my Scratch account, ChowZhenyu57. Other names that I went by on the internet once include MoreSkills, SeventeenPlusScratch, Pohloon Chow, TheGiantV, Mezzowaffle, Hagelslag- and Ignis-. I no longer have a major presence on Scratch or any other platform for that matter at the moment, but if you manage to recognise any of these names I went by in the past, please contact me via my contact page. I currently use Rebelle 5 Pro and Krita for my digital work. I have previously used CLIP STUDIO PAINT PRO, Medibang Paint Pro and paint.net and am currently learning how to use Inkscape. On the traditional front, I am (somewhat) proficient in gouache and oil pastels, with other developing skills in oils, acrylics and watercolours. I also love to use pens and brush pens for my day-to-day sketching. I used to frequently use pencils (also somewhat) proficiently, however that is no longer the case, even though I retain the skills I have learned from that period. I do wish to try new things, however, of course.
